Michael Loadman is a patent associate who works across a wide range of technologies, including the chemical, mechanical and telecoms fields.
He has experience in drafting, prosecuting and obtaining important patents for his clients in the UK, Europe and further afield. He also has experience in proceedings concerning infringement and the validity of patents in the UK and Europe. As well as patent protection, Michael advises his clients on obtaining industrial design protection in the UK and in Europe.
Michael’s clients include SMEs, multinationals and also individuals with no prior experience of intellectual property. Michael tailors his advice to help this wide variety of clients to achieve their business goals through effective use of their IP.
Before joining Swindell & Pearson, Michael graduated with a first class master’s degree in chemistry from Durham University. During the final year of his degree, Michael worked at SASOL Technology UK, part of a global energy company, where he carried out research in the area of catalysis, working on gas-to-liquid technology and the synthesis of nanomaterials. Michael’s research in these interdisciplinary fields and his broad academic training enable him to engage with a wide variety of technologies.
In his free time, Michael likes to travel to and photograph new places whenever possible. Recent visits have included South Korea, Myanmar and Bolivia. When not able to travel, Michael enjoys watching live music and is also a keen follower of Premier League football.
