Elizabeth is a member of the firm’s tech and engineering practice groups. Her work focuses on patent drafting and prosecution, as well as industrial design protection, for large corporations as well as for SMEs and individuals across the Midlands. She particularly enjoys getting to know local clients and their inventions, and building strong relationships to help them get the most out of their intellectual property.
Elizabeth sits on the firm’s patent law committee. She is responsible for keeping her colleagues and clients informed about the new Unitary Patent and Unified Patent Court and has had significant involvement in the creation of the firm’s resources in this area.
Elizabeth joined Swindell & Pearson after graduating from the University of Cambridge with a master’s degree in manufacturing engineering. Though she now works with clients in a range of disciplines, including mechanical devices, telecommunications, automotive, electrical engineering and optics, her manufacturing background means she’s always particularly keen to understand her clients’ processes and learn how they produce their inventions.
As a former Londoner, Elizabeth is evangelical about the joys of the Peak District and enjoys walking and cycling in the region, especially taking overnight bikepacking trips. She can also be found most weeks at one of Derbyshire’s small cinemas.
